INFO Stranger Tides is the brainchild of eccentric metal singer Torben Askholm, previoslusly with Danish Progressive Power Metallers Anubis Gate, now exploring his own vision of metal. Drawing inspiration from bands like Captain Beyond, Kansas, Black Sabbath/Dio, utilizing the theatric sense of Sensational Alex Harvey Band with the more progressive touch of lets say Fates Warning, throwing in a dose of thrash aggressiveness and finally adding a touch of Jazz Fusion. That said, the keyword is HEAVY. Nevertheless, Stranger Tides are defining their own sound in an amalgam of all participants' influences with the emphasis of making interesting music. Torben's main partner in crime is extraordinary bass player Flemming Hansen (ex. Torben Enevoldsen and also a quite capable solo artist). Lars Frederiksen from Danish melodic thrashers Anoxia is handling guitar duties and powerhouse drummer Jan Sørensen (ex. Rigid Domain) is kicking the skins. Last but not least classical trained fusion and avant-garde violinist Pierre Tassone, from avant-garde jazz group Taylor's Free Universe will be adding that spicy flavour.
